Why I Truly Love Being a Move Manager
by Leigh Anne Spears
Some people know from an early age what they want to do when they grow up and others have to search and grow to be led to their dream career. I am definitely in the latter category. I have had several jobs throughout my life that I’ve enjoyed and while many were in different industries and even different types of jobs, the one thing they had in common was that they involved some type of customer service. The main thing I have been able to take away from my varied experiences is that providing customer service and ensuring client satisfaction are what makes me the happiest.
A few years ago, I relocated and found myself looking for a new opportunity. A personal connection led me to Smart Moves where I started as a Transition Specialist and then became a Team Lead. I enjoyed being able to connect with the clients during the project days. My desire to build a stronger relationship with clients and be part of their full move process was evident. I was offered the chance to become a Certified Move Manager and jumped at the opportunity. I really enjoy connecting with people and having the chance to be part of their next step in life. This position gives me the opportunity to get to know clients, how they live, what they enjoy, and what they are looking for during their next chapter in life. We work together to create a plan that fits their needs. I get the chance to walk alongside my clients every step of the way and that is exciting and rewarding. I get to help people create their new lease on life.
I recently attended the Fall Fest at Hickory Park Senior Living and was thrilled to hear that one of my clients was happily offering tours of his apartment. When asked why she chose Ted to offer tours of his apartment, Director of Sales and Marketing Danielle Fischer said, “Ted embodies the warmth and spirit of Hickory Park which makes him the perfect ambassador for our events and tours. By sharing openly about his experiences at Hickory Park, he inspires others to envision their own future in our community.” Ted is one who was originally apprehensive about moving and really relied on Danielle and I to help reassure him throughout the process. It was a joy to see Ted again and to see that five months after his move he was still excitedly talking about Smart Moves and all we did to make his transition to his new home a great experience! He told me that his new space felt like home from the day we moved him. He added, “I believe in what you do and you did a wonderful job for me! I often tell my friends about Smart Moves and definitely recommend your services.” This is the difference that working with a Move Manager makes. We take the time to get to know the clients and help them develop a plan that will not only meet their needs, but will enable them to thrive in their new home.
Danielle also said, “I feel confident recommending Smart Moves because Smart Moves’ compassionate approach ensures a smooth and stress-free move, so our residents can focus on what truly matters—embracing their new chapter with ease and excitement. Smart Moves is a true community partner, exemplifying what it means to prioritize the well-being of our seniors.”
I have had the pleasure of working with many clients who are certain they couldn’t have done it without Smart Moves and my guidance. One client in particular has kept in touch since her move and noted that she would have given up and backed out without my support. No one should feel alone when going through such a big change. Smart Moves is here to help. We pack up the chaos and bring in the calm. Everyone deserves a compassionate moving experience. It is evident that we love what we do. Give us a call so you can experience the benefits of a compassionate move for yourself or a loved one!
